University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is Arkansas's only public HBCU, founded in 1875 in the heart of the Arkansas Delta. The Golden Lions carry black and gold through Pine Bluff and through generations of graduates who left the Delta with a degree and a sense of purpose built in one of the South's most distinctive regions. UAPB has been here since two years before Reconstruction ended, and the school has never stopped building.
